As the PBA D-League season starts up again, La Salle and CEU face off

After a two-week break, the Philippine Basketball Association PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup is back. On Tuesday, college champions EcoOil-La Salle and Centro Escolar University (CEU) will play in a game at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The league had to take a break for the PBA All-Star Weekend in Bacolod and Holy Week. But play starts again tonight with an exciting doubleheader between defending winner La Salle and newcomer CEU at 7:30 p.m. and between Keanzel Basketball and CCI-Yengskivel at 4:30 p.m.

After two easy wins in a row, the University Athletic Association of the Philippines champion Green Archers are a heavy favorite to keep their perfect record. Still, the Scorpions are not to be underestimated.

After winning the Universities and Colleges Athletic League title two years in a row, CEU wants to return to winning ways.

The Scorpions should be put to the test in their battle with the Green Archers.

“It will be harder and harder against every team. We still have to learn how to play better basketball despite our two wins,” CEU assistant coach Caloy Garcia said.

The first game between Keanzel Basketball (0-1) and CCI-Yengskivel (0-1) should be close since both teams are looking for their first win.

The scores were 109–59 for Marinerong Pilipino–San Beda and 82–42 for CCI–Yengskivel in their loss to EcoOil–La Salle.
